Build a Snowman!

In celebration of Snowman(lady) Week here at Persona Designs, Inc. we’d like to present some of the cutest snowmen on the planet! Wishing we had a little snow in our yard right about now…

1) Amanda Parker from “It’s always a party at the Parkers” blog put together an awesome collection of snowman pics, food and crafts before the holidays…like this snowman punch bowl from Better Homes and Garden. Check out her snowman round-up!

2) So simple! Use white powdered doughnuts to create these adorable snacks! From Family Fun.

3) How cute is this – here’s a fantastic tutorial by the original “melting snowman” cookie maker, Meaghan Mountford from The Decorated Cookie.

4) A new take on the “Milk Man.” Bakerella writes, “it’s the perfect mix of winter and whimsy.” We agree! AND, Chris from Celebrations at Home shares a way to make these by recycling Starbuck’s Frappuccino bottles!

5) This bright and beautiful snowman party was created by Shindig Parties and is available for at her etsy shop!

AND, here’s a few snowman pics we dug up…the second row, left, was made by Melinda during her family’s recent holiday trip to the Georgia mountains. Not bad for a Florida/Texas girl!

As we wind down the 2010 holiday season, we can’t think of a better way to say “thank you” and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas than to post several photos from last week’s Personas with a Purpose event.  The beautifully decorated pails (they look like the Rockettes!) were given to the HOPE Foundation in Orlando, Florida. Word has it that they will be presented to teenage girls filled with small gifts and gift cards! The HOPE Foundation is a wonderful organization in the Central Florida area – their mission is to prevent and reduce homelessness by equipping individuals and families to become self-sufficient through Housing, Outreach, Prevention, and Education. Melinda had her own group of elves in the Persona “workshop”… Trevor Ackom, her daughter, Jaclyn, and her son, Michael (who decided to dress the part!). Maria Cantor, a HOPE Foundation volunteer, helped with the delivery.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  Melinda & Pam

We’d like to thank Shanna Ferro and The Candle Cottage in Nederland, TX for becoming one of our newest retailers to offer the Persona Gift Pail. Shanna is a true inspiration! She began her business journey in 1998 from her home, operating out of her garage. She started by making her own candles and customers soon began ordering them from all over the country. After outgrowing several locations, this beautiful brick building on historic Boston Avenue is where The Candle Cottage now calls home. In 2009, Shanna received Nederland’s SBA Achievement Award and this unique gift shop continues to thrive. Customers are greeted with Shanna’s favorite three words, “FAITH, HOPE, and LOVE” as they enter the shop. The Candle Cottage truly is “an old fashioned shopping experience that brings peace and joy to all of the senses.”

Kids love to leave a sweet cookie (or two) for Santa on Christmas Eve, so we decided to “set the scene” with North Pole Nick from our 2010 Holiday Sticker Collection. The Persona Pail not only makes a great gift container, but also a creative way to store and leave your cookies!  These delicious cookies from momofuku.com are the absolute best (with a name like “Compost,” you can just imagine the yummy ingredients!) We used the Classic Holiday Printable Collection from Anders Ruff to create the tent card and gift tag.

AND, we just had to share with you some of our FAVORITE holiday cookies that aren’t just for santa! See below for information and links…

1. Beautiful hand-iced gingerbread cookies from Eleni’s Cookies in NYC.

2. America’s Favorite Cookie™…all dressed up!  These delicious Oreo® Cookies from Lady Fortunes are perfect for the holidays!

3. More of our favorites from momofuku milk bar.

4. Holiday cookie tins from Byrd Cookie Company. We love the mint chocolate chip and key lime coolers!

5.  Allyson Jane creates confections by hand – her holiday collection is stunning!

6. Six of Fairytale Brownies’ most popular flavors in bite sized morsels. But, who can eat just one?

7. Freshly baked by Selma’s with all the finest ingredients and packaged in your choice of tempting tins and pleasantly plump packages.

8. Each giant fortune cookie is hand-dipped in fine Belgian Chocolate and then extra-fancy pecans are added to the cookie to complete this confectionary delight! Your personalized message goes on the 1-ft-long Fortune inside making this a perfect way to send holiday greetings!

As co-owners of Originality, Inc., we specialized in creating custom gifts and promotions for corporate clients for over 10 years. Then, along came the idea to create the Persona Gift Pail — a bright, colorful, fun & whimsical gift product for the end-consumer. It didn’t take long for us to realize that this simple and creative kit can also be used by corporations and organizations to make meetings & events fun, engaging and upbeat! AND, the best part of all…after the last sticker is placed or bow is tied, Persona Gift Pails can be donated to a local charity… how perfect!

Here’s how it works…

Participants create a customized Persona in small groups (3 – 5 individuals). The kit comes in 7 different hair colors and 2 junior pails for a total of 63 pre-designed Personas OR participants can mix and match the stickers to create a Persona “original.” Each group then “styles” the Persona (with hats, ribbons, jewelry and other accessories*), creates a fun and humorous name and finally, writes a brief “bio.” As an option, groups can designate an individual to present their Persona and a winner is selected by a judge, panel or by audience applause! Just fill with school supplies, healthy snacks, personal care products and well wishes to brighten the day of a child, patient or senior citizen.

The benefits…

–  Fun, feel-good product with a philanthropic twist.

–  Promotes creativity, effective communication and team work.

–  Can be used in conjunction with training programs that identify and evaluate personal strengths and weaknesses (personality types).

–  Perfect for a high energy ice breaker, break-out session and even a spouse program.

–  Builds camaraderie and energizes company spirit.

–  Pails can be purchased separately or we can recommend a facilitator that will develop a complete Personas with a Purpose program.

The minimum order is just 12 pails; perfect for groups as small as 12 or as large as 1200. To find out more about Personas with a Purpose and event pricing, please call 800-591-7715 or e-mail us at cast@personagiftpail.com.

*Hats, jewelry, ribbons, etc. are not included. However, we can provide suggestions and resources to purchase accessories.
